Course Description:
The HEART SAVER First Aid Course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the few minutes until professional help arrives. Course content includes General Principles,
Medical Emergencies, and Injury Emergencies. Optional topics include Environmental Emergencies.  When properly applied first aid can save lives, reduce recovery time and
quite possibly mean the difference between temporary disability or lifelong disability for the victim.  Topics to be reviewed will include bandaging, splinting, control of bleeding,
shock, diabetic emergencies, burns, sudden illness, Injuries and more.   

Delivery Format:
The course is video-based with instructor-led discussion and simulation. Students will participate
, practice and complete various skills.
  

Intended Audience for this Course:
This course may be suited for anyone who may just want to learn first aid.  Other participants may be Aerobic Instructors, Student Teachers, Teachers, Camp Counselor and
Police Officers.

The American Heart Association offers training in different formats.  Whichever format you choose, the card you receive will always be the same for
the class you take. Please contact our office if you have any questions regarding the following different class formats.

CLASSROOM:  100% classroom training meaning students are working with a live instructor (reviewing video & mannequin training) the entire time. You
will not take any type of training on the computer prior to arriving for this class.  

BLENDED LEARNING:   This is a combination where students complete  part of the course online, followed by a hands-on skills session with an AHA
Instructor. You will trade in your On-Line completion certificate for a CPR card.  NOTE: skills is approx. 45min. This option is best for students who
want to shorten the time spent in a classroom.

        All course options teach the same AHA guidelines and result in the same Completion Card.  
     (This means that the card will look the same if you take the on-line course or take the classroom course)
                            UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE FOLLOWING COURSES, STUDENTS RECEIVE A

Course Description:    This 3.5 hour class is intended for anyone who does not work in the medical field, has limited or no medical training and needs a
CPR/AED card as a job requirement. In this course students will train on CPR & AED for Adults, Children & infants. Training for Choking victims will also be
provided. Students also learn to recognize the warning signs of a heart attack and stroke in adults and breathing difficulties in children.  Training will also
include the use of an automated
 external defibrillator, AED.
