| Course Description: The HEART SAVER First Aid Course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the few minutes until professional help arrives. Course content includes General Principles, Medical Emergencies, and Injury Emergencies. Optional topics include Environmental Emergencies. When properly applied first aid can save lives, reduce recovery time and quite possibly mean the difference between temporary disability or lifelong disability for the victim. Topics to be reviewed will include bandaging, splinting, control of bleeding, shock, diabetic emergencies, burns, sudden illness, Injuries and more. Delivery Format: The course is video-based with instructor-led discussion and simulation. Students will participate , practice and complete various skills.
